Where do I begin with Hotel Amira?
My husband and I found ourselves in Istanbul as part of the Honeymoon Series and stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet. Of course when we mentioned that we were on our honeymoon, they went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Not only were we upgraded to their stunning open-planned suite on the top floor, but we were also presented with a beautiful bed of roses, chocolate fondue plated with strawberries, and a list of romantic suggestions for our itinerary.
Hotel Amira is located in a touristy yet quiet part of Istanbul (near the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia). We picked this one as opposed to something in Teksim, because it was exactly what we were looking for- a calming and peaceful location with the option of going to the noise and hustle-bustle at our ease. Also, for a social media junkie like myself, they even hand you a wifi dongle that you can carry around to post live!
Look out for Karin Toker. She’s usually hanging around the front end and is super helpful. You also want to look for a man called Can Yaman. He’s your guy- especially when you’re making your booking, and will go out of his way to ensure that you have a wonderful time.
P.S: The food is to die for. Make time for the afternoon tea and do not miss the breakfast spread.
