What Impressed
The decor and vibe on the new terrace really lives up to the hype. You will read about the nonexistent service below but it’s important to highlight that this changed: it was perfect after we met Ashwin and Matt. Try and get a table that’s served by them- they make your culinary experience perfect!
Ashwin recommended a couple of dishes for us (mine were dairy and wheat free):
Chicken Quesadillas were delicious!
Chicken Biryani with rice noodles: While the biryani flavour was on point, perhaps a few more coriander leaves, smaller pieces of chicken and a yoghurt equivalent on the side to cool the masalas overbearingness down would have been perfect.
Braised lamb chops: I continued to munch on these for a while, well after they got cold. The meat stayed tender and did not toughen up at all- that’s a good sign! I do wish there was a little more of the garlic sauce or the sweet chili sauce though, as some bites were a little dry on the inside.
Mouth refreshers (on the house!) Cotton candy bites with dehydrated paan on the inside. Delish!
What Depressed
The service in the beginning was a little .. well.. there was none. We only had about an hour and the guys were at the bar taking selfies despite us asking for someone to take our order. I’m all for having fun in the workplace, however don’t do it right in front of the customer – it creates a bad impression! What I don’t see will not upset me. Following this the jug of sangria we ordered showed up after the starters (35 min). But as I mentioned earlier, Ashwin and Matt made it awesome and we left with a great experience on hand.
