What we Ordered… Raw papaya salad, fried shrimps, tom yum soup, masaman curry, drunk man noodles, chicken satay, stir fried aubergine…
What Impressed
The quality of chicken at Rhong Tiam is underrated- I’d compare the it to a Toko or Asia Asia. I particularly love the masaman curry with chicken and drunk man noodles as it’s a great combination. Everyone is super friendly at the restaurant but if Sharot’s your server, consider yourself well taken care of!
P.S: When I order I like to get extra noodles in the drunk man – it serves more people! Consider 2 portions (w/ the added noodles) satisfactory for up to 6-7 people if you’re ordering rice as well.
What Depressed
There are many variables that go in to making an experience a good or bad one. We always try to visit a restaurant a few times before putting a review out there. Unfortunately, on our second and third visits, the stir fried aubergine was not as flavourful and well cooked as the first time we tried it. Sadness, because I don’t touch aubergine on a normal day but I inhaled them on the first day (when they were perfectly cooked)!
